Back to accommodation

The Tiervlei guest farm is situated in the North-Western Karoo in an area bordered by the districts of Carnarvon, Fraserburg and Williston.

The farm is an active sheep farm and the farmhouse is a very old historic building that has been beautifully restored and tastefully furnished with all the essential furniture and appliances for living off grid.  Basic solar power is used for lights and the frigde while the Esse coal stove is used for cooking.  Hot water is supplied by means of a "donkey" that uses firewood.

We would love you to come and enjoy the serene Karoo experiences such as the unique silence, the very special landscape and vegetation, the bright stars at night and the hospitallity of the people.  You will be amazed by the variety of birds around the farmhouse and at watersources.  The fireplace are an essential, but very enjoyable feature during cold winternights.

The farm house can accommodate 9 people and prices are very reasonable.

Where to find us:  The farm is situated 38 km from Carnarvon on the main road from Carnarvon to Frazerburg.  Co-ordinates: 31 15 304S   21 55 224E
